Camelids
Both Llamas and Alpacas have become increasingly popular in the UK over the last 15 years. Primarily since they produce a very high quality fleece, but also as they are wonderful and interesting creatures and make very good pets.
Minster Veterinary Practice has a well-established client base of high quality alpaca breeders, as well as local pet owners. On these farms we are regularly involved with health planning, monitoring of faecal egg counts, as well as procedures such as pregnancy diagnosis, examinations of non-breeders and certification for insurance. We also have fully equipped surgical and hospital facilities available and we happily accept referral cases from other veterinary practices nationally.
