Meet The Team
 
The practice was founded around the beginning of the 20th century making it the oldest veterinary practice in Yorkshire.
 
6 full-time and 3 part-time veterinarians based in Herefordshire, Nottingham and York the poultry team consist of :-   
 

Alastair Johnston, BVMS, Cert VA, MRCVS.

Graduated in 1983 from Glasgow University. He joined the practice in 1985 following two years working at Liverpool University. In 1989 he became a partner. In 2003 he was elected as president of the British Poultry Veterinary Association. Alastair also serves on various national advisory committees. In 2008 he moved away from clinical work to develop the training department
Michael Clark, MA, VetMB, MRCVS.

Graduated in 1992 from Cambridge University. He joined the practice in 1996 after four years working in Chipping Norton in Oxfordshire. In 2000 he became a partner and Michael is now chairman of the NFU Poultry disease advisory group.

Keith Warner, Bsc (Vet Sc) Hons, BVM&S, MRCVS.

Joined the practice in 1997 immediately after graduating from Edinburgh University with a degree in Veterinary Pathology as well as his Veterinary Degree. He became a partner in 2005.
Sara Perez, DVM, MSc, CertPMP, MRCVS.

Graduated in 1998 from Barcelona University. She completed a Master of Science in Bristol University and joined the Practice in 2003 after 5 years of farm and meat inspection work. Sara has recently passed the RCVS Certificate in Poultry Medicine and Production. She became a partner in 2010.

 
 
 Richard Jennison, BVM&S, CertLAS, CertWEL, MRCVS.

He graduated in 1997 from Edinburgh University. After a period in mixed practice in Bridlington and small  Practice in Hull and Essex, Richard joined the Practice in 2006. He holds RCVS Certificates in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics and Law and Laboratory Animal Science. He became an associate partner in 2010.

Kath Gillett, BVSc, MRCVS.

Graduated from Bristol University in 1995. Joined the practice as a part time poultry veterinarian in 2005 after working in general veterinary practice throughout Herefordshire and Dorset.
Wojciech Roman Idzinski MRCVS
 
Graduated in 1994 from University in Olsztyn, Poland. Roman has worked in several mixed practices following his graduation. He has also been a veterinary adviser for a feed mill company in Poland. Roman had emigrated to the UK in 2004, where he worked for the meat hygiene service and  a poultry practice. He joined the Minster Poultry Team in 2008 and is currently based at our York branch.
 

 

 

Catherine McVicar, BVMS, MSc, MRCVS.
 
Is a recent addition to the team. She has an extensive experience in general practice, the meat hygiene      service, the pharmaceutical industry and latterly as the senior veterinary officer at VLA Sutton Bonnington
 
Carolina Lopez-Margolles DVM. MRCVS
 
Graduated in 2000 from Zargoza university.  Joined The Minster Veterinary Practice in 2007 after 6 years working within the meat industry.  She became a lead external auditor for ISO 9000 Standards in 2006.
 
 
 
 

Charlotte Cheney

Joined the Practice in June 2002 after finishing her studies in Game and Fishery Management at Hartpury Agricultural College in Gloucestershire. She is the first point of contact for prescriptions, vaccine and drug orders and sample submissions at the Hereford branch.


 

Zoe Stevens - PA to Michael Clark
 
Zoe joined the Practice at Sutton Bonington in 2006. She is currently studying for her SQP qualification which will enable her  to prescribe and supply certain veterinary medicinal products under the Veterinary Medicines Regulations.  Zoe is a keen animal lover and especially loves horses.
 
 
 
 

Karen Chirnside
  
Receptionist and Office Administrator
After many years of administrative work, Karen joined the Poultry Team in 2008. She is the first point of contact for general poultry queries, drug and vaccine orders, feed prescriptions and sampling kits. She also manages the poultry diary for veterinary visits and appointments at the York branch.
